History - The Business Development and Growth Agency

The Business Development Agency started in October of 2005. Having  spent 25 years serving in every capacity at the Small business Association of Jamaica. While there, positions  held were Head of the Apparel and Craft group, Director, Treasurer, Secretary, first second and third Vice President and then President for four years. I believe that these positions has caused me to interface with thousands of business and prospective business operators over the years and made me equipped to run my own Agency.

While at the Association seeing the needs and the challenges faced daily by the membership I recognize the importance for training and development so I  planned workshops, seminars and conventions. I also had the privilege to write syllabus for all the training manuals for all the business courses arranged for the association for over 10 years. This rich experience allows me to travel the fourteen parishes in Jamaica working with business operators in developing growth strategies for their businesses.

In 2002 I became the first Vice President of the Caribbean Association of Small and Medium Enterprise (CASME). This organization head office is in Barbados and its goal is to develop businesses regionally.

My Association with SBAJ earned me a place on the Board of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica and also I served as a director of the Jamaica Business development Corporation (JBDC) and on many other boards that foster business growth in Jamaica. This agency is operated by the Government of Jamaica.

When HEART –VDTI started their Business development Course for entrepreneur I was asked to be an advisor on the board for that training programme. I also serve as an assessor on the Training of that trainer Programme for entrepreneur and the National Assessor Programme.  I have been asked to be the consultant to develop the small business competencies for business operators in Jamaica.

I host a Radio Programme on KlAS  FM since October 2006 called Let’s talk Small Business.  With all of these experiences it was inevitable for me to give birth to this agency that helps to grow businesses in Jamaica.

The Agency is five years old and going strong.  I am also a Fashion designer and an instructor in the same field. My business has trained to date over 20,000 persons and the numbers are growing. I have been blessed to be knowledgeable in the area of business growth and development and will be happy to access all your business needs and opportunity  .
